The Sutton Law Firm would like to reassure our clients and colleagues that we are taking appropriate steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees and communities, while at the same time continuing to provide the highest level of service to our clients.
Though we had planned on keeping all of our offices open, at least for the time being, we have just received notice that Bay Area counties are requiring people to stay in their homes for the next several weeks. We have therefore instituted remote working procedures for all employees in our San Francisco office. As you know, much of our work is already conducted via telephone and email, and we have systems in place which allow our employees to conduct legal research, access firm files, use our cloud-based reporting software, and otherwise work from home relatively seamlessly. We thank you for your patience as we adjust with you to this new reality.
In addition, we are carefully reviewing all upcoming court appearances, initiative petition submissions, and other legal tasks which are usually done in-person and are working with clients, the courts and filing officers on the best way to proceed in this new environment. We are also monitoring all filing deadlines for campaign, lobbying, ethics and nonprofit reports, as well as for ongoing litigation matters, and are filing all documents on a timely basis.
Our thoughts are with those in our communities and around the world who have been affected by the virus, and for those who are in high-risk populations. We urge everyone to be safe out there. If you have any questions about the Sutton Law Firm’s response to the virus, please do not hesitate to call or email any of us.
